1.1 KTET Exam 2023 Notification

The Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test (KTET) was notified vide various platforms recently between the month of October and November 2022. The exam was conducted in the month of December 2022. The LPSA and KTET results were published without much delay, without any anticipation or worries by the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan this time. The KTET qualifications also helps you to apply for various posts in Kerala PSC like LPSA, UPSA, HSST, HSA etc. The Kerala Government Education Board is also planning to release the next KTET notification on or before the month of June 2023. And this might be the golden chance for all in-service teachers to crack the KTET.

1.2 KTET 2023 Exam Date

The next cycle of KTET examination is proposed to happen on June 2023 and the notifications will be released prior to that. The tentative dates will be released through the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan official website.

1.3 KTET 2023 Qualification

KTET exams are been conducted in four categories where each category designated for different sections like Lower Primary level (K1), Upper Primary level (K2), High School level (K3) and the fourth one is specially allotted for language teachers(K4). And each category requires qualifications pertaining to respective levels chosen by the candidates. The qualifications required for each category is tabulated below.

1.	Category 1 (Lower Primary Classes)	45% in Higher Secondary/ Senior Higher Secondary Qualification and a pass in TTC/ D.Ed./D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) OR 45% in Higher Secondary/ Senior Higher Secondary Qualification and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education approved by NCTE (2002) OR 50% in Higher Secondary/ Senior Higher Secondary Qualification and 4-year B.El.Ed. Ed (Bachelor of Elementary Education) OR 50% in Higher Secondary/ Senior Higher Secondary Qualification and 2-year D.Ed. (Special Education)
2.	Category 2 (Upper Primary Classes)	45% in BA/ B. Com/ B.Sc. and a pass in B.Ed. /D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) mandated by NCTE. OR 50% in Higher Secondary/ Senior Higher Secondary Qualification and 4-year B.El.Ed. Ed (Bachelor of Elementary Education) OR 50% in Higher Secondary/ Senior Higher Secondary Qualification and 4-year BA.Ed. or B.Sc. Ed (D.Ed. / D.El.Ed. / B.Ed. final year students are also eligible to apply) OR B. Tech qualification and 2-year Diploma/ TTC/ D.Ed./ D.El.Ed. mandated by NCTE.
3.	Category 3 (High School Classes)	45% in BA/ B. Com/ B.Sc. and B.Ed. in that corresponding subject (From Universities of Kerala or Universities approved by the Government of Kerala) OR M.Sc. qualification and B.Ed. degree admission obtained on the basis of M.Sc. marks. OR 50% marks in M.Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology) with M.Sc. Ed degree approved by NCERT/ 50% marks in M.Sc. (Zoology, Botany) with M.Sc. Ed. degree in Life Sciences from RIE (regional Institute of Education). OR 45% in BA or equivalent with qualification in LTTC/ D. El. Ed.
4.	Category 4 (Upper Primary Language teachers)	Teachers eligible in Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu (UP level), Specialist teachers, Sports teachers (High school level) and Art & Craft teachers (approved by NCTE) OR Teachers in specialised fields ( mandated by Act and Rules-XXXI)

1.4 KTET Application form

KTET application form can be submitted vide the official website. The application process can be initiated by clicking on to the “New Registration” link. Then, fill in all the details, check thoroughly before the ‘final submission’ of application through the ‘edit your application’ button. Now, you will be prompted to pay the application fees.

The details to be filled on the application include,

• Candidates Name, Date of Birth, Caste, Religion, Category, Father’s Name, Address, Mobile number, Aadhar number.
• Photograph (in jpeg format, size: 20Kb-30Kb, 150x200 pixel, background plane)
• Payment can be done viz., Net Banking, Credit or Debit cards.

1.5 KTET Admit Card 2023

The KTET Hall ticket can be readily downloaded from the official website using the registered application ID and number. The admit cards will be available a month before the actual month of the exam.

1.6 KTET 2023 Exam Pattern

The recent KTET exam was conducted in December 2022 and the next exam will be around the corner by the month of June. The exam is scheduled in MCQ format with a total of 150 questions. Each exam category has three parts.

KTET 2023 Expected Cut-Off

The previous year cut-off for KTET exams was fixed at 50% for general category and 55% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH and visually impaired candidates. The expected cut offs for KTET 2023 will be 65% for general category and 60% for other categories. The final cut offs will be subjected to the decision of the examination board. The overall KTET pass percentage for the recent exam was just 26.51% as per the statistics released by the Pareeksha Bhavan.
